I have been researching many different distributions of linux here lately. I have become familiar with how they work and place files in their file system. This is something that I found outstanding, and am downloading this distribution of linux right now! It is a christian version of linux; Ubuntu Christian Edition. It has a christian themed version of firefox. I applaud these programmers for standing up for their faith and boosting mine by just reading this. http://distrowatch.com/?newsid=03744#0

I think so too, Debby. JFlok, it is very rairly that you see someone who is unafraid to show their faith today. So many people keep their faith hidden from others for fear of being ostracized. I applaude them.

JF: Techie Question:
Firefox is open source code, right? So did a seperate outfit just take the Firefox code and alter it to create the BibleBrowser or is this actually something put out by Firefox?
I'm not a "WhatWouldJesusDownload" kinda girl (call it the whole "High Church" thing), but I think it's pretty neat if people are using the Firefox code to create new browsers specifically suited to personal taste! I'd love to have a philosophy browser, personally!

Actually you download Firefox and add a theme and a plug in. Not an altered source code or anything. Papa2, Firefox runs great on Windows based PCs, maybe even better than Internet Explorer.

Hey, mom...just go to www.faithbrowser.com (http://www.faithbrowser.com) and it will give you some directions on how to get everything working.
I prefer Firefox over IE. Once you get it set like you like it, you'll forget about IE.

The GNOME desktop environment uses Firefox as the default web browser, but after using both KDE and GNOME I prefer KDE with Konquerer. The good thing about the different environments is that you don't have to stick with what is stock, you can go find Firefox and install it if you prefer. Just a question......Anyone installed SuSE 10.1 successfully with updates working and everything?? I had a major time getting the updates working, then after I got them working they quit again. That's why I'm installed Ubuntu, Kubuntu, and Fedora Core 5 right now, but I liked SuSE. I probably just need some expert assistance.

FiREFOX RULES!
It's the best browser in existence...
I'm with demopolite. I'm not a WhatWouldJesusFind search button kinda person either..
Just like I wouldn't want Jesus wallpaper in my bedroom or crosses all over the place... it's too Carrie-ish...
Does it block you from downloading music and block sites and things like that?

I don't know, I haven't played with it much. I have installed two version one is Ubuntu CE and Ichthux, both of which are christian versions. One is Ubuntu and Kbuntu, both are debian based distros. I like them both, and neither have a Jesus Desktop.
