It has been brought to my attention that the DHS Band Boosters are losing alot of money at the games due to the fact that Kora's Place and Foster Farms are giving away free food to everybody who comes. Which in turn is killing consession sales. Now I like free stuff just as much as the next guy, but why hasn't the school system said anything. The Band Booster depend on the money. What do you guys think?

The free food was not done with intention to take money from anyone. It was done to help boost interest in the pregame tailgating in conjunction with the radio station.
Also, I don't feel the financial impact is quite what the band boosters has lead it to be. Foster Farms has been giving away around 60 corndogs, a few dozen wings and a few dozen nuggets, along with some bits of hamburger that Kora's sends - and no drinksare given away. All of this is done before the game starts and is promptly shut down by 5 till 7. All of this may has some impact on the final sales of the concesscion stand but the thousand or more dollars they are missing can not be fully blamed on Kora's and Foster Farms. The concerns of the band boosters was brought to Foster Farms attention the last game and a donation jar was placed at the tent and will continue to be placed there. Also Foster Farms has agreed to donate any hotdogs and/or corndogs the band boosters want.

Looks like the school is allowing competition for the concession stand. No matter how much money is being lost, people are less likely to buy things from the concession stand if they eat something in the parking lot minutes before the game starts. Whether intentional or not, these businesses are keeping the Band Boosters from raising the money it needs.
You can't keep people from eating their own food in the parking lot or going somewhere to eat before the game, but people handing out free food at the game is going a step too far. You can "boost interest" in an event through advertising without hurting concession sales. Kora's and Foster Farms can hand out coupons in the parking lot before a game instead of food. I don't think the intention was to hurt concession sales, but it needs to stop.

The one thing I think they need to do is have some kids walk around with drinks and popcorn and stuff and sell it in the stands like other teams do... We hate standing in line for 5 hours for some drinks during halftime... plus I'm all about some free food...

That's a good idea, but could lead to liability issues, with kids carrying around money, or safety issues. If grown-ups would go out and sell, that would be safer.
I'm in Kentucky, so I can't see the concession stand from here. Is it set up to accommodate a lot of fans? Could it be arranged to accommodate more lines? Could they set up tables outside the concession stand to sell non-cooked items?
Although the season is winding down, this is a good time to list areas that need improvement and use them in basketball/baseball or bring them up before the season starts next year!

If they do that, they should come out in the second quarter through halftime, then maybe again in the fourth quarter. But again, I'm not big on students going through the stands sellings stuff -- at least, not alone. Maybe in groups of two or three.

I personally don't eat at ball games. The Boosters should set up at the tailgate area before the game with a drink stand. As it was stated, this is a PREGAME event and is shut down before kickoff. The Pregame tailgating is set up to help get folks in the stands (food doesn't do much good over the radio).

Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think Kora's and Foster Farms set up on city property. So technically, they can do whatever. I don't think either one wants to hurt the band boosters.
The concession stands are almost impossible to get to after 6:30 on game nights.
