View Full Version : Missing Labs In Boligee/Tishabee Area
I have two black labs that have been missing since Tuesday morning about 7:30am. They both have collars with tags that include their names and our phone number. If you know of anyone that has recently come into two new dogs about a year old please let me know. These dogs are family dogs and are super friendly, which has me worried that someone stole them. I'm not looking to press charges or anything of that sort, I just want our dogs back. I have a 6 year old son that is devastated and I won't even begin on how upset this has the rest of us. Anyone with any information can call me at 334-341-3508 or email me at msheather0131@yahoo.com.

I hope you find your dogs. Our bulldog went missing Friday nite. We chased her all over town. She finally showed back up Sunday evening. I know how worried you are. Good Luck.

I hope you find them! I have three labs myself and I wouldn't know what to do if they disappeared.
Thanks for all of your hopes and concerns. I have put flyers up all over Boligee and on the gates of the hunting areas there. They mentioned it on 98.5 this morning and of course it will be in tomorrow's Demopolis Times. I have several people I know in the area keeping an eye out. I just hope someone has them and they weren't shot by hunters. I don't know how some people sleep at night that do those kinds of things. Deer are deer, dogs belong to people that love them.

I saw them this afternoon at a house a block or so up the road from your house today while on my way to Woody Dinning's office. They were in the side yard of a house on Main Street where another dog was inside a backyard fence. The two black labs were outside the fence. The dog inside the fence was a golden lab I think.

We have seen those labs also. I thought maybe they belonged to someone in the neighborhood. They are beautiful dogs. I pray you'll find your puppies. I have a mixed breed with some lab/chow/rabbit. And my son would be very upset if she were gone.
I'm not sure if that's them, I wouldn't think they'd gotten so far from home, but if someone picked them up to get them out of Boligee because they were messing up their hunting I guess it could be them. I rode through that neighborhood this morning several times but I didn't see those dogs. Mine didn't go missing until Tuesday morning and I got a call that someone thought they'd seen them over at Conoco (Across from Frank's store in Forkland) yesterday and I took off hoping it was them and never saw any dogs. I really appreciate everyones help, and thanks for the phone call last night as well. I hope we find them soon, it's really been cold, and getting colder tonight and I'm seriously worried.

The two labs being seen in the Walnut/Main street area belong to Richard & Monica Grecu. They are not the dogs from the "Boligee" area.
I didn't figure mine had made it this far into town. I would never take any dogs that I did not know for a fact were mine. That's exactly what I'm going through and I wouldn't do it to someone else. It is good to know that people are looking out for other people and willing to help. I do appreciate the calls and comments on those that have been seen. I still haven't found mine and do appreciate any other replys to this post.
Also on a side note, if you have dogs, even though mine have tags and it hasn't seemed to matter, please put contact info on your pets tags and collars, this lets people know someone cares enough about them to want them back if they're ever found wandering away from home.

dove,

I GOT MY BABIES BACK!!!!
I just wanted to let everyone know that my babies, Macey and Tank are home. We got a call last night from a lady that lives in Boligee, up toward the interstate about 7 miles from us, that she had seen the ad in The Dempolis Times and she thought she had our dogs. She told Michael they were really friendly and her husband said they'd showed up there this afternoon. We got this call about 15 minutes after I had called one of the hunters that had called me on Sunday saying the dogs where with them about 1/2 mile from the house on their hunting land. He said he'd put the word out about them but he didn't know when he'd be back in the area. I'm sure it was a coincidence, I don't care, I have my dogs. I barely got both shoes on as I was running down the porch to get in the truck. When we got to her house as soon as we stepped out of the truck those dogs about took us out. Macey's collar was gone and she had on a new red collar, Tank still had his on, with the tags that have all of our info attached also his had a metal hook attached that implies someone had chained him and he'd pulled it loose, I guess someone was wanting to keep them. Tank wanted in the truck so bad he tried to jump on the front of it. I was hugging them and crying, and hugging the lady and crying, it was the most joyous feeling I had had in a really long time. This kind of thing really makes me feel that there is still good in some people.
I can NOT begin to thank everyone enough for the calls and posts each time a dog matching their description was seen. The people showing hope and concern for us to find them has been overwhelming and I am just astonished at the amount of good that there still is in this world, especially with so much bad and negativity. Thank you to the Demopolis Times, if it hadn't been for that lady seeing the ad she would not have known to call...do keep in mind, they don't charge to run an ad for Lost or Found pets, even with a photo. Thank you to Erin for getting the ad in so soon, and 98.5 for mentioning it on the radio two days in a row....Thank you to everyone...if I could I'd hug all of you.

Oh Dove .....how wonderful that you have your missing "family" back at home. That is truly great news! Yes, there certainly are people in this world who are kind and caring ....and what an appropriate time of year for goodness to ring through. Merry Christmas!

That is great news!! That is the worst thing in the world. Our dog went missing about 2 months ago and it has been sad. We have a "neighborhood" dog though so Noah is ok.. Still sad that Randolph is gone though.

I am so glad you got your dogs back Dove.
Thank you all so much, we are just glad to have them home. I'm so sorry for anyone else going through this and what Cedar Sam said is a great idea, the thing is, we had to get the info tags from Pet Supplies Plus and Walmart in Tuscaloosa out of those vending type machines that engrave them on the spot. There is no place in Demopolis that does it or has them (none that I am aware of). Maybe I'll call Ms. Faulkner tomorrow at Clyde's Pet People to see if she could look into that, the machine might be too big for her building though. I am sure you could get them online, but it would be nice to have them as soon as possible, like now, Macey doesn't have one and I don't like the idea of that at all. Thanks again everyone.

Boomerangtags.com makes excellent info tags for dogs and cats. They are kinda pricey - about $8 per tag - but they say they are indestructible and will replace them if they break. They have all different styles and colors and offer free shipping. My lab goes through a collar about every three months, but her boomerang tag is over a year old and still looks good as new. Really glad you found your dogs!
