In other news...COTR this year will feature a new attraction- the Gift of Lights tour. According to Kathy Levertt, the attraction will start as an addition to COTR, but could have phenomenal potential. The tour will run from Nov 29 until Dec 21, from 6pm until 10 pm. The lights promise to attract tourism from the town and the river.....Don Siegelman has awarded Harriet's House 125,000 dollars in support of the domestic violence shelter. Local matching funds of 28,000 have been added also. harriet's House is a non-profit program providing emergency shelter, 24-hour crises intervention, counceling, and weekly support group meetings to domestic voilence victems of Choctaw, Clarke, Marengo, greene, and Sumpter counties. I've never personally been a supporter of Siegleman, but this may be the best thing he's done since taking office. Whether it's an attempt to gain support for his upcoming vote or not, he did the right thing here.
