Re: Arizona cops burn down home serving search warrant
We obviously have only the news article to form any opinions on here. I agree with silver on a stake-out. Why couldn't the house have been observed for 2-3 days to see if they could catch the suspect they were after without totally destroying a family's home? Flash - Bang grenades are just as dangerous as tear gas grenades in that they generate sparks, heat, and fire which can burn up stuff. God forbid, but suppose the people had a meth lab cooking in the house the police didn't know about! The whole block could have gone up in one fell swoop and killed who knows how many police officers and innocent civilians!
The incident most likely could have been handled differently. However, it has been pointed out to me in another thread I need to go back to school and learn investigations, so what the HELL do I know about serving a search warrant?
Scottsdale and Gilbert should just go on and pay out! It will be cheaper in the long run to pay these people for the loss of their home and all their possessions than it will to drag it out in court for years and pay all the attorneys on both sides a buttload of money to fight it out in court for 7-10 years!
