I'm thinking of opening a gunsmithing business in Demopolis and just wanted to get some feedback to see if it will be worth it. I will be repairing, rebluing, customizing, accurizing and possibly building custom rifles. So let me know what the people at D-live think.

Go for it, you will be a good one to do such a thing!

I think that would probably be a good business as long as there is no one else doing it. I dont know if theres someone at willinghams that does that kind of work or if they send the guns off. Just something to look into.Do you have to have a federal firearms license? Im just throwing stuff out there cause I dont know. But I feel like it would be a good thing.

I do some of Willinghams work for him. Frank Malone is the only gunsmith in Demopolis now but I think he is ready to retire. I will be taking a master gunsmith class and sending off for my FFL.

Do you have any experience working on Sig pistols?

You should probably call Mr Frank, his business is located downtown next door to Dexco-across from the old hotel...

Just a few questions here too..
Will you deal in gun sales?
How bout a shooting range (indoor)
Will you sell optics accessories?

Build it and they will come

I haven't decided if I will sell guns yet, if I do it will be guns that Willingham cannot get like some of the AR-15 and 50 bmg if there is a need for them.
No indoor shooting range we will have a brand new outdoor range in the works. I will sell optics and accessories, like Nightforce, Leuplod, and U S Optics.

I think it would be great. I have family who sent a gun off one time to Texas and after 3 months, he finally asked them to send it back because they "never got around to it." They finally went somewhere in Selma to get the job done.

Demopolis is a hunting town & Marengo County is full of hunters, both locals & out-of-state, so I believe a gunsmith would do well here. Good Luck w/ your venture.
