This was prety neat of the launch back on December 9th this was taken from a few hundred miles away from JFK space center.
Go to:Although he was hundreds of miles away, Rick Ebrecht had a great view of space shuttle Discovery's rare nighttime launch from Florida's Kennedy Space Center on December 9. From his vantage point in Tybee Island, Georgia, he used a 30-second time-lapse exposure to capture the bright orange streak of light that appeared as the shuttle lifted off. He said the bright flare in the middle happened during the booster’s separation.
