My boyfriend grew up around the Okefenokee Swamp in South Georgia, and he's got a few funny stories. This is one of them:

In the South, we tend to have some interesting place names. One of those is Resaca, a small town in Georgia. Legend has it that an old Indian chief once ruled his tribe from the area, long before it was settled by white men. This Indian chief needed a wife, and so he ordered his men to go kidnap the princess of a neighboring tribe.

The war party set out early that night and managed to sneak into the village of the hostile tribe. They quietly stole the princess from her tent and snuck into the woods. The princess of course struggled, so the men bound her in a burlap bag just to keep her from alerting the tribe.

The men snuck through the woods, finally coming back to their village at dawn. The chief met them and told them to remove the princess from the bag so that he could see his wife. So the warriors slowly untied the bundle, and lowered the sides of the sack around the princess.

The chief took one look at the princess and yelled, "Oh Lord!! Resaca!! Resaca!! Resaca!!"
