After strolling thru the online weekly news papers from my hometown and college towns in Texas I was just wondering, If everyone else kept up with their old stomping grounds? If so, how does everyone else keep up with their hometown news.
For those of you who do not live in your hometown, Do you read online Papers, have newspapers delivered to your home/office, call/email family or friends, or does your city have a local website (like Demopolislive.com).
Even for those who live in or near your hometown How do you keep in touch?
You can select more than one choice.

I had to stop and ask self,"Do I really need to be here", and self says,"Only in the cover of darkness."
I have a subscription to the Fayette paper delivered to my home. I also read Tuscaloosa News (online and in print) as well as watch local TV news (Tuscaloosa / Birmingham stations) to keep up. I have a few classmates and family that will e-mail or call me from time to time with anything of any significance or interest.

To keep up with the old crew I first joined classmates and then after finding some of them I talk on the phone or e-mail.I found out some interesting things after being gone from them for several years.A lot of the old school friends wound up being Doctors, Lawyers and School Teachers one is the principale of the elementery school in moody,al. I think the most of my class did well.
Before we got home to stay, we would check the Demopolis Times online, the local real estate ads, Demopolis Live, al.com, and emails and phone calls to family and friends. We love DLive because the news is so fast and personal. And I forgot Caro's excellent email group news that she kept up for several years. I suppose she was the predecessor to DLive, in a way.

May those who love us, love us. And those that don't love us may God turn their hearts; And if he doesn't turn their hearts, may he turn their ankles so we will know them by their limping.
Seeing that Demopolis is my old stomping grounds and I now live in Florida... I get the local news and umm other stuff..lol faster here on Demopolislive than some of the people do that actually live in Demopolis. I sometimes call my mother and tell her about something and she is like..How did ya know about that..DemopolisLive..of course.
I am aware that my appearance, by mortal standards, is strange, even unsettling.
If I am to be an ambassador of my people, tradition dictates that I look the part.
Sadly, those who judge me on my looks alone ignore the causes I champion
Still, when the need arises, I am a warrior.
I keep up with all my high school friends through Myspace. My mom still lives back home, so she saves all the local newspapers for me. Course by the time I go get them the news is old but it is still nice to read about. I also keep up with stuff through internet newspaper websites.
"Everyone want to be happy, nobody wants pain, but you can't make a rainbow without any rain!"
D'live, Myspace, email and Y messenger for a the online gotta know stuff. I call a friend of mine back home for other info. I kind of lost out on my mainline inside track when my mom retired. But she is still a wealth of local news info.
