Demopolis Real Estate

I am getting to that point to where I think I am ready to purchase my first home. I have started looking around town, and on the major realty web sites for Demopolis (Webb, Bill Mackey, and West Alabama). The problem I keep hitting with all of the houses that I am seeing is that you don't really get a whole lot for what the folks are asking.

This trend has gotten me thinking more and more about new home construction. The question that I have for you guys is this. Who are the major construction outfits for this area. Pros and cons if you got them. Does anyone know of any nice homes for sale by owner in town?

I am willing to consider moving slightly out of town, but the closer to Demopolis the better. Ideally, I would like to still get DSL! I am just in the information gathering phase of my search right now, so any help is well appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Demopolis Real Estate

I've heard that to Pamalam!! Mike Moss is actually the best in town..hands down..not sure your price range..but JR & Tina Rivas's old house on Jefferson road is for sale..the white house they use to live in..it's awesome!! loaded with pool and everything..I promise if u saw it you'd love it..office that overlooks the beautiful courtyard..gameroom...nice deck and beautiful trees around pool as well...very nice place...and you'd actually be shocked at the asking price..I can get you her cell number if you are interested..Good Luck and Happy Shopping..

You wouldn't worry so much about what people thought of you if you knew how seldom they did.

Re: Demopolis Real Estate

My father-in-law does concrete work, he is with Julian Construction. They do driveways, patios, foundations, and stuff like that. Good hardworking people. I'm not sure about the building side of things.

It took us forever to find our house, but the minute we walked in the door, we knew it was ours. Barbara Myers showed us about 20 houses and never gave up on us. If you are looking for a great realtor, she is who to go with. Any time of the day or night, she was available to us. I know people who have also sold there houses with her and she is the same way.

Re: Demopolis Real Estate

For someone's first house, I'd recommend not to build. It's difficult to figure out what you like/how you live. Cost of labor for construction is high and it's a headache if this is your first home. I'd probably find a house you like and would work for your family with maybe a little renovation...

Re: Demopolis Real Estate

I totally agree about Barbara Myers. She is the best. We bought our house through her 3 years ago and she still sends us notes in the mail, hugs me every time I see her, asking how we like the house. She even bought us a housewarming gift when we moved in. She showed us tons of houses, never giving up on us. I highly recommend giving Barbara a call.

you're absolutely right. everyone has to get started somewhere. i apologize, i forget about the newbies. Barbara and someone else i won't mention ( very rude person ) are the only people i have delt with and i just like to give her credit for being such a wonderful person. but i must say there are many wonderful, kind realtors here in town that i know would do a great job for anyone.
