My hands are still shaking

Wow.

Doom 3 is fun... its a bit slow to start, which works to your benefit, cuz all the baddies are faster than you.

I'm on like the 5th or 6th level, some stupid lift...

Aside from some goon convincing everyone that some jumping puzzles be in a first person shooter, they nailed it.

It runs smooth on my system, Athlon XP @ 2074MHz, 256MB DDR @ 380 and Geforce 4 Ti4200. Occasionally, when you start through a doorway into a big opening is slows because I'm below the required memory of 384. So far so good tho, it runs smooth enough.

Again... WOW.

Did you shine your flashlight in the mirror in the bathroom? Graphics are tops. I'm running on "high" settings at 1024x768 resolution and it's smooth as you want it. (2.4 gh, 1024 mb duel DDR, Geforce 5700 fx 256mb.)

I have to keep it on "Low" at 640x480. Stupid Radeon 8500 with a paltry 64MB.

"The House of the Venerable and Inscrutable Colonel was what they called it when they were speaking Chinese. Venerable because of his goatee, white as the dogwood blossom, a badge of unimpeachable credibility in Confucian eyes. Inscrutable because he has gone to his grave without divulging the Secret of the Eleven Herbs and Spices."

I'm trying to decide between adding 512 PC3200 to my 256 PC2700 for 768, or just dropping the PC2700 in order to have faster 512.

Ti4200 runs it fine at 8x6 Brian, you should be able to get away with that at least... using the latest drivers?

Dave, didn't think to try it.

Brian, I think we need to snatch his 5700 and run. DX9 cards have heat distortion and all kinds of other neat effects not on DX8 or DX8.1 cards.

Alpha labs sector 4.

Man this game is fun. I took a screen of a particular freaky encounter. (For those not playing but interested, the reddish wormy looking thing actually is pulsing and moving, apprearing to be growing. This dude was screaming as you entered the room.

This cap really doesn't do the game justice showing off the graphics.

I'm not going to spoil it by saying what scared me, I'll just say keep playing.

This is probably the first game I've paid full price for in nearly 10 years. Everything else I own came off the $10 rack, Collectors Edition, came with a card, etc...

So far its been worth it.
