IGN recently ranked the 25 best PC games:

For my money, Rome: Total War has to be #1. But the biggest outrage to those of past our 20's is the omission of any Leisure Suit Larry game! Diablo 2 should have made it too.

Just kidding, buddy. I could be Dr. Burgundy by now if Age of Empires II: Age of Kings (No. 10)hadn't screwed up my grade point average...although, strangely my blood alcohol content was at an all-time high

Glad The Sims made it. They have lived in my house for about 10 years now.

Fred and I used to LOVE the Ceasar games.
I'm showing my age, but my step-son and I used to play the Kings Quest games until our eyeballs burst! Fred was totally addicted to an F-16 fighter game back in early 1990.
Anyone rememberWingCommander? Stupid movie but cool PC game!
Lastly, any game with Sid Meir's name connected to it was always a blast!
We've been addicted to the Civ games forever, it seems. Before there were Civ games, Meir had a fantastic Civil War game.

I'm with you Faith! I loved all of the Kings Quest games and have played them all. I really hated it when they stopped coming out with new ones! I really enjoy computer games. I also like the Myst series. I like to solve puzzles I guess, always have. I'm one that will sit and work the New York Times with an ink pen. LOL Now Sudoku is a whole different thing! That I do with a pencil!! So frustrating.
Anyway, my favorite ones are any of the King's Quest games, Hobbit was really fun and of course all of the Tomb Raider games, I think those are my all time favorite. As long as I can see the character I'm moving around and it's not if 1st person like Doom then it's ok. Doom makes me soooo sick!
Hubby got me a Gameboy one year for Christmas and I love playing that. Mario is my favorite with it.
I didn't see Hero's Quest (Quest for glory) on that list. Battlefield 1942 and Oblivion should be higher on the list IMO. And where is GTA??

They didn't seem to be very PC (politically correct) to me! I spent 6 months in Kuwait in 1999 playing Half Life on a jury rigged LAN, and even though I might have a plasma cannon, or chain saw, Skip would sneak up behind me and kill me with a crowbar! Now I spend hours on Microsoft Flight Simulator, and you can't take off a 747 from Demopolis.

Like others here, The Sierra Games of yesteryear (When it was still run by the Williams Family), immediately come to mind when talking about my favorite games. No other game since has provided such interest. I've pretty much played them all. For those interested in the Adventure Genre:Click Here (http://indygamer.blogspot.com/search/label/adv2006)

Here is a link to EGM's Crapstravaganza: The 20 Worst Video Games Of All Time. It's a few years old, but I remember it being one of the most hilarious reviews ever. Unfortunately, this is not the same article word for word that was in the zine. Be warned, the author, designating this the 'director's cut', has not edited out the profanity from his original draft. (Doesn't make it any funnier, IMO) If this will bother you, then try searching for the original.

I still enjoy Warcraft II, teamed up LAN style. Only problem is we keep having to edit the maps to make them harder. I have Warcraft III too, maybe one day I'll finally get around to beating the expansion. Yeah, I know how old WAR II is, but your'e talking to someone who has all the Zork games.
