Just thought I would pass this along, it may save your cell phone/linc too!
My son dropped my linc in the tub the other night, it was completely submerged in hot water. I got it out real quick and took the back off, removed the battery and sim card and dried it with a towel. I shook it to shake out all the water I could and put it back together and it didn't work, but it started getting real hot. So, I took it all back out and left it open to dry. I did a search on the net and it said to do as I had already done, except do not put it back together, let it dry for 2 or 3 days and then try it. I tried it the next morning and mine worked just fine. It has worked fine ever since. I was really worried though, the screen was all fogged up and it wouldn't even turn on right after it happened. I hope this will be of some help for you.

Yes I've had the same kind of accident with our home phone. It does work. I even have insurance to cover phones and when I called they said it would not cover this type accident. Was wondering what type it had to be. But, anyway we got it working.

A woman who works at Drs. Green & Mellown's office threw her cell phone out in our yard on the way back home after a day in the river @ Myrtlewood. She had wound up drowning her cell phone and didn't think it was any good any more. I picked up all the pieces out of my yard, reassembled it, called her home number from the cell phone and told her I had the cell phone. She was shocked to say the least that the cell phone worked! I returned it to her @ Green & Mellown's office.

Working at a Southern Linc place I have seen some crazy stuff happen to alot of phones. Most of the time if you just leave them alone for a day or two they will begin to work again just fine. My brother even ran over his with the skidder the other day and after digging the dirt out from under the keypad it works just fine now.

My son threw mine is the water right before a trip to Cleveland OH! We were driving so I really wanted a cell phone. It was a Nokia. Of course it didn't work and I took it apart and dried it out. I called Sprint and the guy said it was trash to throw it away. Well I went to the Sprint store at 5 til close and paid $150 for a new phone. When we got home from Cleveland OH I put the phone back together so Brendan could have it. He turned it on and it worked! I was so mad!
We were at inservice a couple of years ago and a friend dropped her linc in the toilet. Someone told her that if she microwaved it for 5 seconds, it would be fine.
Just a hint......Never listen to a man who never has anything serious to say, and NEVER put a cellphone/southern linc in the microwave.

The easiest way to dry out a cell phone/ southern linc....Place it in a baggie with those silicone packs that come in shoe boxes, purses etc....it works....

That was very kind of you, Stickman! I am impressed. A lot of people would not have gone through that kind of trouble. That was a true act of kindness & I say kudos to you!! I believe that when you do good, good will come back to you. Good job!
