Yes, I saw them and stopped and got them a sack full of burgers and fries and also got the hound dog a sak full of dog food and a big bottle of water. They are Katrina victims who can't seem to get the government to do anything about their home. They are going to Washington to meet with the President. He says he is writing a documentary. I noticed that someone was talking with them today, interviewing them it looked like. Maybe we will read more in one of the papers.

We saw them this past Friday around Hwy 17. Some of the guys that work at the paper mill travel that way everyday and they said that they have been seeing them for a few weeks now. I also saw them today at Newton Tire. I've been wondering where they went and I rode by a few min. ago and the wagon was at Econo Lodge.

Re: man, woman and wagon
I was wondering how long it was going to be before anyone posted about them. A friend of mine that I work with said he had been watching them as they trekked through Meridian and once they hit 80, I had been watching them until they got to here. I didn't see them today. I didn't even look past Walmart today. I hope they are careful when they are going to Washington.
Yall pray for their safety and well-being on their long journey.

Family and I went to get ice cream around 8 and my husband told me to pull into the Econo Lodge. He showed me the wagon and started telling me the story how some co workers had stopped and talked with the man.
They saw him Monday at lunch time on Hwy 80 in front of Terry Brown's house and they made it to the Foscue House area where they camped out last night. They made it to the Econo Lodge earlier today where they are staying the night.
The man and dog wear a harness and pull the wagon while the woman follows. They have already gone from Biloxi to Colorado and are now headed to D.C.
Husband and co workers figured they probably don't go more than 5 or so miles a day. Gave them some money to help them out. Man said they had been interviewed by the Gazette so it should be interesting to read.
All I can say is that they have more strength and will power than I ever could have to do something like this!
May God watch over them during their long journey!

Re: man, woman and wagon
Well I will pray for their safety and their success on their journey. I do hope they will be able to get the government to do something to help them. Good Luck and God Bless them.
I think the people helping them along the way are as important as their trip to DC. We never know when we are taking care of angels. Thanks to all who shared. May we all be so generous.
I'll remember them in prayer.

shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say
of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in
Him I will trust."

I don't mean to be the one that rains on anyones parade, but do you think these could be some sort of scam artists???? I know that the "government" should have helped more in the Katrina aftermath, but I also know plenty of people, that packed up and started a new life. What should the "government" have done for them, give them a job, build them a house, and pay there monthly bills. Some people just want government handouts. If he is strong enough to pull a wagon with his wife and dog in it, he is strong enough to dig ditches and make an honest wage. What about her? Women in this day and age work as hard as men. I am sorry I do not have more sympathy for them. I hope they are safe on there journey, but I don't agree in the principle of the journey.
