I just received an e-mail from Maureen with West Alabama Humane Society.
They are trying to place two older horses with new families. They don't have to go together. Please read the e-mail attached and if you can help there is a contact name and phone number. They are also asking for donations for the horses care if you feel like you want to help that way.
We adopted our dog, Buddy, from WAHS and I do volunteer work with them in my free time. They are a great organization.
Thank you from the animals!
HSWA is trying to place 2 horses. If there are any horse people out there we need your help! We are trying to find a final resting place for these 2 neglected horses. They do not have to go together. We just want someone who will care for them properly & will give them peace in a pasture. The mare will not be suitable for riding and the gelding is not at this time but with the proper care he may be able to handle a small amount of weight on his back.
15 yr. old grey gelding with foundered front legs
20 + yr. old mare with lame front leg
If you can help these 2 horses, please call Denise McCarley at 339-1591 for more details. If you aren't able to give these horses a place to live, perhaps a donation to assist in their care? Please think hard.
