Printer Help
I'm in need of a printer guru. I have an HP Officejet D145 that keeps giving me the error "Bad Print Head". I am printer illiterate (along w/computer illiterate).....is this something I can repair or do I need to take this into someone in the "know"?

I had this problem back in the spring.......ended up having to buy a whole new computer....once the printhead goes 'bad', thats about all you can do---that I am aware of. I did not buy an expensive printer...just one of those all-in-ones for around $80 at Walmart.

The model you have has a seperate Print Head from the ink cartridge. You can buy them from HP for about 35 bucks.

Each color cart has it's own Print head, so if the printer gives you any more information on WHICH print head is bad, you'll want to pay attention so you don't replace a good print head.

FYI, the Print head is what takes the ink from the cartridge and sprays it on the paper.

notanative, if I have to buy a new printer, it'll not be one that's as expensive as this one, that's for sure!! I hate that you ended up buying a whole new computer.

I had a similar problem once and the place I bought the new print head from also gave me two ink cartridges so it turned out not being too bad.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK! I made a major mistake, please forgive me. I did NOT have to buy whole new computer....just had to buy a printer ................. My brain thinks faster than I can type...................AAAACCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!! !!!!!!!!!!!

I had an HP Photo Printer an the Tension Spring where you put the ink had broken and poked a hole in the ribbon cable that goes the head. I called HP Customer service and since it was within the year they sent me a new printer in two days and I sent them my old one back. They even paid for the shipping. I was happy.
I had to stop and ask self,"Do I really need to be here", and self says,"Only in the cover of darkness."
