DSL for Digits
Ok so I was talking to our new head engineeer the other day about DSL. He told me to get a list of telephone numbers and areas that are requesting DSL service. After compiling a list for him he will turn in all the numbers and sites for which the numbers work and he would send all the information in to try to get those sites turned up for DSL after the first on the year. Now I'm not making any promises here but it is a step in the right direction. If any of you live in the Demopolis, Linden, Greensboro, Uniontown, Eutaw, Livingston, Boligee, or York exchanges please pm me your phone numbers and 911 addresses. Ask your nieghbors also the more people in a certain area the higher that area will be on the list. We are also working on the groundwork for several circuits coming from Texas that will be the Uverse Network, TV on Demand. You can't get this service unless you are able to get a DSL signal so help me help you and start getting me some numbers and addresses PLEASE.

So what is the cost difference with DSL through satellite and with bellsouth say. I know how my tv reception is on Dish network and when it's bad weather it's constantly going out which I'm assuming would be the case with internet connections as well or am I wrong? On Bell I get great service with extremely little downtime and pretty fast connect speed and download rates. Would I be able to say the same thing with a satellite DSL connection?

Or are you all talking about getting on with bellsouth? I guess I just assumed it was available just about everywhere around here with the exception of some outer lying areas of town.

AT&T's prices range from 19.95 to 42.95 a month for DSL. The speed, price, and connectivity are extremely better than satellite. They do offer satellite service through Wild Blue but with it you have sign a contract. What I'm working on is trying to get true DSL service to everyone without the hassle of contracts, higher prices, and loss of connection due to weather.

Another thing that will help is if there are 3 businesses in your area that want DSL. This can include churches also.
