I am sure everyone on here knows someone that cheers for these schools...Tell them Good Luck! Show up for the play-off games! It would be great to have lots of local teams in the Super-Six! Back when Demopolis and Sweetwater were in the Championship game, there were as many Demopolis fans cheering for Sweetwater and Sweetwater fans cheering for Demopolis. From the looks of the 1-A playoff race, we are going to have some good rematches in the works! Everyone's hard work is paying off-they made it to the playoffs!

Sunshine sends out a loud "Thank You" to those who have been cheering us on right here on D-Live. Our greatest thanks goes to the Lord Jesus Christ who has brought us this far.

Interesting fact, the four coaches from AHSAA Class 1A Region 4 who made the playoffs are all Marengo County natives and grew up within 20 miles of each other.

Ain't nuttin' like family!

To all the rest of the teams who have made the playoffs from the Black Belt in both AHSAA and AISA, Good Luck and go out there with the intention to prove that you are from the best part of this state!

Sunshine Side Note:

There is a little dispute arising between the Sunshine players and the Sunshine head coach. The players are cheering for the Southern Cougars to win the AISA 2A State Championship. HOWEVER, the Sunshine head coach has just one thing to say about that:

We surely want every team in our area to win a state championship, so I say go all the way!!!!!!!!To the Demopolis Tigers I say beat Vigor and from that point on, beat everybody else, lets bring a state championship back to Demopolis.

A firestorm of debate is burning in Linden over Linden High School football playoff statistics. Several Linden school administrators, coaching officials, alumni, and other sports writers have been quoted in local newspapers to say that [paraphrase] “this is the first time Linden has gone to the Quarter-Finals (3rd round).”

I am pleased to share these statistics, as far back and reasonably accurate as possible, on this matter.

You're absolutely right, truthseeker, I can confirm that some people need to get their facts right before they are quoted in the newspaper. This was indeed the Linden Patriots FIFTH appearance in the state quarterfinals.

Now, for additional information that was also misinformed. This was also the Patriots FOURTH 10-win season!!!...not their first. Plus there have been a few 9-win seasons also.

One of those fans who has been telling those pieces of misinformation to the new coach and the administrators was caught dodging me like a bad cold tonight at the game. That person knows better, too. I think that the misinformation was deliberate, but I can't understand why someone who calls themselves a loyal LHS Patriot would deliberately downplay the past.

Who were the LHS coaches for those FIVE quarterfinal appearances?
