Unacceptable Behavior at UA

The Univ. of Ala's SGA president and 2 UA football players have been arrested in 2 unrelated incidents. According to the Crimson White, SGA pres. R.B.Walker was arrested on Nov.30 on suspicion of disorderly conduct. UA freshmen football players Jacob Vane, 20, and Thomas Darrah, 19, were arrested Friday on misdemeanor charges related to an assault at an apartment complex. Vane and Darrah turned themselves in Friday in connection with the assault of a resident at University Village early Sunday morning. Apparently Vane and Darrah were visiting a friend when they got into a confrontation with a male resident and his female friend at about 3am. The resident and friend were walking in the parking lot when Vane and Darrah made derogatory comments about the female. The resident asked Vane and Farrah to stop so they went down to the parking lot and assaulted the male resident. The victim received medical attention the next day. "He had a lot of bruises, swelling and scratches." The entire altercation was recorded by the apartment's surveillance system. Vane and Farrah were charged with 3rd degree assault, a misdemeaner. They posted $500 bail at the police station immediately after their arrest. Any school related disciplinary action will be handled by the football program. "Until all the facts have been gathered it would be inappropriate to comment further." Just a couple of ordinary college kids having a little fun! They sure sounded BRAVE and STUPID!

I read this in the Tuscaloosa news also. I guess Saben was right. He is coaching a bunch of outlaws. NOTE.... Not saying that any of us has been there and done that too. Brave and Stupid would most likely be the right words though.

There were two more players on scene that just watched and did nothing to stop this. They could have at least called the police. Of the two that were arrested, one held him while the other repeatedly kicked and punched him. I would love to give more details but because of privacy, I can't.

I'm just glad to see someone besides myself posted this one. I started to post it, but after the reaming I have taken over the Simeon Castille threads, I just don't think it would be worth the hassle for me. I would be just another Auburn fan picking on poor little UA football players who were just having a good time and were doing nothing wrong.

I think that most of us can see quite a difference between an ASSAULT and playing around with your friends.

Just for the record, the gentleman that they beat up, and I mean beat up badly, is a BIG Alabama fan. Maybe he won't be so much any more.
