Wii have victory!
After the usual fruitless search for the ever elusive Wii (WM got 60 yesterday-all gone-) I finally thought outside the box and bought the kid a PS3 for Christmas. It's more expensive, but at 14 he'll get a lot more use out of its features. Plus, he's paying for half of it with money he's saved over the year so he has a vested interest in it. It's obvious it's a much neater game system even without the little thinga ma jigs to put through the TV. The graphics are fantastic!

Well, that's my solution. Happy hunting for the rest of you!

I lucked out finding a Wii....just continually hit the same on line retailers until I found one that had them in stock. (Had been sold out before Monday morning at 5:00 a.m. when I clicked that available baby into my shopping cart). I only had to pay the going price for the standard package too. $249.00. I was SOOOOO excited! Glad you decided on the PS3, I hear they are awesome systems as well.

I'm SOOOOOOO tired of the Wii hunt, we've got the PS3 on line downloading some demo games. It's also a Blue Ray DVD player too. Didn't know that.

I want one also but I'm not going to pay a "scalper" a hundred dollars or more to get one.

I'll just wait till a little after the first of the year anyway. With my luck there will be a Wii II out by then and the hunt will be on again.

By the way I love the Wii commercial where they are playing baseball and the guy throws the controller into the flatscreen on the wall.

you can reserve one from the local game stop on dec 21st at the list $249 price and they gaurentee it to be to you by jan 21st the only thing is you have to pay for it in full now. man I bet they take in hundreds of thousands on pre orders tomorrow. I bought mine last summer they were in stock at a few places
once in a while you get shown the light in the strangest places if you look at it right ...

I think the manager told me yesterday they only have 6 rain checks for the store. The Wii production line has been stopped until sometime next year. I think Nintendo is taking a huge hit from this lack of ability to produce enough of the systems. The 40gig PS3 is $150.00 more than the Wii but it does about 3 times more things. The Kid was playing it here last night (he's spending Christmas with his Mother so we let him have it), and he opined that it was MUCH better than the Wii. The graphics are almost movie like. I'm not into gaming, but I think it was a sound choice.
