Just curious. My daughter and I are going to Tuscaloosa tomorrow to have a girl's day out. Has anyone eaten at the new Tokyo Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar? We wanted to try something different and heard it might just be the place to try. Is Japanese food the same as Chinese? LOL! Anyway, rumors are that it is a bit costly but worth it as the show of preparing the food is worth every cent. Let us know if you have gone. Thank you and hugs...

Japanese is my favorite food! It is like Chinese in that it is rice and meat (cat)...j/k....
But it is sooooooooo much better than Chinese. The food is cooked in front of you...the entertainment is worth part of the price, if you get a good chef. Teriyaki chicken and fried rice....yum!

Tokyo's in Tuscaloosa is without a doubt the absolute best place in the world to eat. If I was on death row, my last meal would come from there, no doubt. And the show they put on is beyond amazing.

I personally prefer Hokkaido on 15th if you are going for the sushi and other seafood. If you are going for the show, Tokyo is probably slightly better.

Ohhh, Pam!! My favorite cuisine in the world....Japanese!! I would go if they did not have a show but it is fun if you've never seen one. I've not eaten at the one in Tuscaloosa but, if they have it, you've GOT to try the filet & shrimp or lobster....make sure you get the redish/orange sauce. Love the ginger dressing. Dont know if you've tried sushi but there are SO MANY that I've come to love. It's different but if you try it, you'll like it (although I have to be careful about which ones I eat....some are too fishy tasting for me)
Most can be pricey but they dont scrimp on food....you'll be taking some home for sure. Ya'll have fun and eat some for Bamassee!!!!

We've been to them all, and Hokkaido edges out Tokyo by a nose for the teppanaki (grill dinner). I like Tokyo's sushi better though. Both are better than Benkei in Northport.

Bento used to have the best sushi in town, but I've not been impressed of late.
