For the record- The man on the right is John Sophocleus, who was the 3rd candidate on the Governor ticket yesterday. Since I failed to even hear is named mentioned except on a list of candidates, I wanted to show his face and say THANK YOU for not calling my house and making television unbearable. It's too bad because of money, power, and politics we never got a chance to hear his views and consider him as a viable candidate.

It's not official yet, but Don Siegelman appears to have won the election and will serve a second term in office. In a speech last night after Siegelman declared himself the winner, Riley refused to concede the election. He also made references to Florida, and stated that "his numbers" show himself winning the election. He also stated he would not give up until "every vote has been counted". CNN reports with 100% of the precincts reporting: Don Siegelman- 674,052 votes. Bob Riley- 670,913. John Sophocleus- 23,242. Though their was no mention of it, we can assume Sophocleus conceded:) Dear GOD, please make Bob concede.

In other races decided yesterday...
Jeff Sessions is re-elected to the Senate. Though the polls are still tallying, he has a large enough margin of votes to safely predict victory.
Lucy Baxley becomes the first woman in state history to be elected Lt. Governor.
Jo Bonner wins House seat in District 1.
Terry Everett (R) wins House seat District 2.
Michael D. Rogers (R) wins a close race for House seat District 3.
Aderholt (R) wins House seat District 4.
Robert E. Cramer, Jr. (D) wins House seat District 5.
Spencer Bachus (R) wins House seat District 6.
Artur Davis (D) wins House seat District 7.

On the National front, Republicans now have control over the House, Senate, and White House. Some key issues were voted on. Of the most amusing or interesting: In Nevada, they voted against legalizing Marijuana, and voted for banning same sex marriages. Tennessee has voted for a state lottery. And Arizona voted against Medical use of Marijuana.

If he had not have been on the ballot, Riley may have won. We would have gotten rid of the Trial Lawyer crook in Montgomery. Too bad we have to put up with this Clinton type of politics of giving away money to your buddies for four more years. At least he knows that we are watching now!

I voted Republican straight down the line. Voted against the Marijuana prop, and voted For banning same sex marriage. Overall, My picks turned out pretty good. I'm estatic to see the Dems get blown away this election.
