Bookmarks gone...

I use Mozilla Firefox for my browser. Today I went to my bookmarks and they were gone as tho they never existed. I looked under tools and options to see if there was a setting of some type deleting them/etc. This is actually the 2nd time it has happened in a couple of months. Has anyone else ever had this happen and if so what can I do?

Re: Bookmarks gone...

Haven't heard of this one before, but you can export your bookmarks into a file that can be loaded back in if they disappear again.

Click on Bookmarks at the top of the page and select "Organize Bookmarks". This will bring up the Bookmark Manager. From there, click "File", then "Export". Write it to a location that you will remember, and if you lose them again, go through the same steps as above (Just click "Import" and select your bookmark file).

Hope this helps!

Re: Bookmarks gone...

Go here:

C:\Documents and Settings\**your name**\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\

There will be a folder in there with numbers and letters most likely, click in there, then "bookmark Backups". Pick the latest backup and rename it to simply "bookmarks.html". Copy that and past in the profiles folder (it will ask you to overwrite, say yes). That should restore it.

**your name** is your username on that machine. Don't go in the "all users" folder.
