So, everyone loves video games, but what are the hottest games for Christmas time? What game/s are all the children asking for?
I just bought that new Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II and man is that game sweet. I think its better than the last one.

Battlefield: Vietnam is an excellent game. It requires a higher-end computer system, but is a great addition to your collection if your are a serious gamer, especially if you have broadband.
For the rest of us that don't have the higher-end system, i recomend Battlefield: 1942. It is along the same lines, but runs better on slower computers and is nearly as fun as Battlefield: Vietnam.
(Either one would make a great Christmas present)

ncaa 2005 and nba live 2005 are about all i play...but im getting halo 2 for christmas so i guess ill be playing it soon...
I have NFSU2 and Madden 2005 for the PC--both very fun. I've found Battlefield 1942 plays slow even on high end rigs. I love Desert Combat though :)BF Vietnam is fun also. If you like those games, you should try Star Wars Battlefront.

Doom 3 is an AWESOME game for those of us who enjoy that genre, but should not be a gift for anyone under the age of 15.
Of all the games i have played (A LOT), it is the scariest one yet, and probably WILL cause nightmares in under-teenage children.
So, for those of us that enjoy freaky shoot-em-up games, this is a great pick (because it is scary as @#$%, and absa-tively
posi-lutely RULES!)
It has only one drawback: you need an EXTREMELY HIGH-END system to play it well.
A NOTE OF CAUTION:
DOOM 3 IS A TERRIFYING SCI-FI HORROR
GAME EXPERIENCE. IT IS NOT RECOMMENDED
FOR THE COWARDLY OR THE FAINT OF HEART.
HOWEVER, FOR THOSE WHO DARE TO FACE
DOOM 3 AS IT WAS INTENDED;
LOCK YOUR DOOR. TURN OFF THE LIGHTS,
AND TURN UP YOUR SOUND.
ENJOY DOOM 3.

(This game is definately not suitable for anyone under the age of 16)

That is the way to play Doom3... otherwise, it just takes too much out of it.
Really, it only takes a 1.5GHz, 384MB and a good video card. Most people could play it fine if only they weren't using integrated vid or if the PC manufacturer's would sell a PC with something better than absolute bare minimum... I've tinkered with it on mine, runs pretty good @ 1GHz with 384MB and a Geforce 4 Ti4200. Any less vid card and it is not as much fun...
I'm looking for GTA VC myself, and of course Gran Turismo 4, but it has been delayed until January... at least it will be right when they're finished.

Well my kids are younger and they want Tak 2 and Mario Party 6. They also still want Mario Kart Double Dash.

the Mario Party games are even fun for adults assuming you can get enough of them to play... once you get 4 people playing, just about anything is fun.
I am enjoying Halo 2 on X-Box...I plan to buy another game soon so ya'll keep talking about the games so I can get ideas from you about which to buy...

Sega GT is fun as well... but kinda short. I'm used to Gran Turismo... a year or two to beat it completely, Sega GT on the Xbox was a weekend at best... but a FUN weekend...

i have a new favorite game...espn nfl 2K5...ive always been more of an ea sports guy myself but i got this game for christmas and it is the awesomest game ive ever played...sportscenter after the games, your own crib to fill with stuff as you win games, a special mode where you see what the player sees, and a espn25 anniversary mode where you play classic games...its the best game i have ever played...and its only 20 bucks, half the price of madden...and i think its much better

Anyone heard of Manhunt? It's creepy. For description, see my journal (shameless plug!!) :)
I have manhunt for the PC--creepy yes, though it got boring after a few minutes of killing.
GTA San Andreas is simply the greatest.
Madden 2005 > ESPN2K5 --IMO, Madden just plays better, though ESPN has nice extras.

the graphics are good in my opinion...the detail of the faces of the players is unreal...the gameplay is a little unrealistic with the way you can bounce off tackles...but the extras that come with it definitely make up for slightly weak gameplay...even with madden being the same price at wally world id still pick 2K5...i havent played madden 05 though, i own madden 04 though and 2K5 blows it out of the water...no contest to me

I got a Game Boy Advanced SP for Christmas and the game Star Wars and really like it. Also enjoy Zelda Link to the Past. It's pretty tough to beat in places but fun. On the PC I like all the Tomb Raider games and the Myst series the best.
