Does anyone here purchase their contact lenses/lens online or by phone? I have done a little research, but there are so many different companies that it is quite confusing. I filled my current prescription at Wal-Mart, but they are far too expensive. I would appreciate any information anyone will share about online contact lense purchases --good or bad. Thanks in advance.
I always wondered about that myself. I get mine from the WalMart Vision Center too and they ARE a little expensive. I'm a little hestitant about ordering them online, there are so many online and I don't know anyone who has gotten them online either. Has anyone ordered any from 1-800-Contacts? Seen it advertise and always wondered if anyone has gotten any from them. I'm interested in hearing some opinions myself!

I've ordered from 1800 contacts and had no trouble at all. At the time I was seeing Dr. Lacefield and it averaged out to be where I could get 4 boxes online for what I paid for 3 boxes in Demopolis.

I always wondered also. I've tried wearing them. I can't wear them long and the last time I tried it was very painful because of an old injury to my left eye.
I had heard that Walmarts were the cheapest but, that was quite a few years ago.
Thanks 2-Spold!
I use visiondirect.com and have had no problems whatsoever. They will verify your prescription the first time you order, and send the lenses to your house within a day or 2. Very easy.

I always purchase my daughters from Coastal Contacts (http://www.coastalcontacts.com/). Always prompt, packaged well and never a problem with quality or security. They're usually cheaper than 1-800contacts, at least on the Bio-Medics that my daughter wears. They have price match and if you purchase and find the same item cheaper somewhere else, they'll refund 110% of the difference.
Also, you can do a search for coupons or discount codes and save a little more that way at most of the online retailers. (I do that for EVERYTHING that I purchase online)

I have purchased mine from 1-800-contacts in the past and had no problems whatsoever. However, about a year ago I priced my contacts at the Wal-Mart vision center and they were a couple of dollars cheaper and, of course, no shipping charges. If anyone finds some cheaper than Wal-Mart I'd be interested in that information.

I have ordered from 800 contacts before and didn't have a problem. This past time I ordered from AC lens.com and didn't have a problem there either. I didn't check Walmarts prices but the kind I wear now are the Focus Night and Day and were going to be $75 a box (3 mo. supply) here in town. Ordered from AC lens.com and ordered their special offer at the time which was 4 boxes and mail in rebate and it turned out to be around $24 a box. Let me rephrase that ..... I have sent for my rebate, haven't received it yet. But if/when I do, I will have paid around $24 a box.

I always buy mine from my optometrist but have thought about buying them from online before just haven't. If you do buy them from online does your prescription have to be up to date? Like within a year?

If you have an updated RX from doctor, it expedites the process. If you don't they will c
