I support the school on this one. Students should be familiar with the school dress code and should wear attire appropriate for school functions. That short a dress and no panties......NAH!
This girl WAS given two options.... she could go home or go to jail. SHE chose jail. SHE made the choice here!
She doesn't have a case.

Jail is where she should have gone with that attitude.
Her parents should have their butt in jail for letting their daughter even buy a dress like that, much less wear it.That is just ridiculous.

On a report I read earlier, the students also had to sign a dress code and a code of conduct. The code said that no stomach/mid-drift showing attire could be worn. So she knew that the dress would be against that code!

She should NOT be wearing that dress it is VERY inappropriate for a young girl and especially for a school prom!! The school was in the right on this one!!

It is NOT a prom dress! It MIGHT be beachwear, but not a prom dress.
I know I make people mad everytime I say this, but I'll say it again. What are parents thinking? That is your teeaage daughter. Although she is probably an 18-year-old senior, it is beside the point. Why would you buy a "prom dress" for your daughter that leaves very little to the imagination. In fact while watching the youtube video, I was having to imagine her "in clothes."
But still, what are parents thinking when they let their teen daughters dress like that to formal events or even semi-formal events or even casual events? I have been to Nawlins where even younger teens were dressed like that for Jazz Fest and Mardi Gras. I don't get it; I just don't get it.
If I had a daughter I would probably dress her in a floor-length burlap sack, but that's me.
The will of God prevails. In great contests each party claims to act in accordance with the will of God. Both may be, but one must be, wrong. - Abraham Lincoln, 1862
I agree. She just wanted to get on TV or cause a commotion. I can't believe she actually thought the dress was appropriate to wear ANYWHERE in public, especially a school sponsored event. Well, she had her 15 minutes of fame, now what?
oh my gosh I would beat my goddaughter half to death and then take her to her mother and grandmother and let them finish her off, if she even thought of putting on something like that.
Men are like hard wood floors lay them right the first time and you can walk all over them forever.
I have to agree with everyone else here. I mean, first, where were the parents. Someone had to pay for that dress, and I seriously doubt the girl did, and even if she did, my daughter would NEVER leave the house looking like that!
