Ugh! From what people have told me of the storyline, I know I will not enjoy the movie. I've heard that it completely destroys the story as it is told in Greek mythology and the Iliad. But I have heard that Brad Pitt was hot in it.

I've found that most of the time I can't enjoy movies based on books I've read or on historical events because I just yell at the screen about what is wrong.

The special effects were really good...hard to make it look like 1000 ships on the ocean and 50,000 troops on the beach and not pay that many folks to be in the movie...it had some great fight scenes with Achilles in them...my husband loved it - even with me gasping for breath every time Brad dropped his pants....

It has an extra dvd with info about the Greek Gods that my daughter learned alot from. She had some knowledge of Greek mythology from school but not much yet (only in the 6th grade). Now she is looking for books to read to learn more. Of course I made her leave the room when Brad was showing off...It only gave you quick glimpses of Brad on two occasions anyway and no real sex scenes...just some skin and cuddling...I have this really nifty freeze frame button on my DVD...

Where I have to agree with Meri Brad Pitt is hot there are so many other movies I would rather watch with him in it. Meet Joe Black... Ok I personally don't like to watch movies of books I have already read or things I already know about b/c most of the time it's way off or not as good as the book. The Harry Potter series has nothing on the books. They leave out alot of good stuff.

My daughter loves Harry Potter - she has read the series of books no less than 4 times each now...she loves the movies but says the same thing...they fall way short of the books...

I think Brad Pitt is so hot in Troy because of his hair being kinda shuffled and longer than usual...of course, all those muscles don't have a thing to do with why I think he is sexy! LOL!
