Dixie Youth Baseball question
I have a question. Does the leauge have an end of the year ceremony where they announce All-stars and give trophies out to the teams? My son played in the 7&8 year old division this year and our season has ended. I have only heard of some who made All-stars, I have not heard of a formal announcement. Usually our sign-up money goes toward a uniform and trophy but since we moved up this year I wasn't sure if they still did it this way. I'm just curious to know if we paid for a trophy that we haven't received. Our coach hasn't said anything about a party or anything so I'm assuming we're done for the year.

Will hasn't gotten a trophy since t-ball, probably. Some teams' moms or coaches might take up some money and do trophies on their own, but I don't think the league does trophies. In fact, Cal Ripken doesn't do trophies for All-Stars. Will got medals last year for that. Hope that helps!

Thanks Teach, that helps alot. I thought maybe it ended after t-ball since they haven't done anything so far. I just wanted to make sure I hadn't missed anything. I was talking to a softball mom and the softball league does continue with trophies/medals and an end of season ceremony.

My grandson's team, coached by H. Overmyer and McVay came in second when they lost to the first place team Thursday night. The first place team received a trophy and I believe Allstars were called out. The Allstars might play in Butler later ???? My grandson didn't make Allstars, thank goodness, because he's only 7. I think they were trying to have 8yr olds be Allstars ?????

I was just wondering how they did it. I grew up in Linden where All-stars were announced in front of everyone. I guess in Cal Ripken they just notify the parents of the boys who make All-stars. I know of at least one 7 year old that made All-stars so I don't think they were trying to have an all 8 year old team. Maybe they don't announce All-starts in front of everyone to spare feelings of the boys who don't make it?

They announced the all-stars for the 7 & * year olds after the last game as I was able to get over there just as the last on ewas being announced! The all stars got medallions!
Grandkids and kids all make Us feel younger than We actually are!!!

I'm assuming only the boys who made All-stars were told about when they would do this. Not all parents were made aware of when this would take place. Our last game was Tuesday and our coach did not tell anyone to be there Thursday for All-star announcement. I'm just surprised that not all the players are invited when they announce All-stars. BTW, congrats on Davis making All-stars, he is a great little ball player!

Maybe I should have said that my grandson's parents told him that he wasn't going to make the Allstar team because there were too many good 8yr olds, and they were right. Allstars are usually announced after the championship game. PAH
