Why close it? More people may want to come in and express condolences to the family or other uplifting comments. Others may want to come in and ask ncogkneetoe to explain or defend his remarks. Still others may have another angle on this subject. Should we close the thread just because ncogkneetoe has come in and said something to offend some people here? Wouldn't that be akin to the censorship I've been accused of before, that we as Admins are sometimes accused of?

I think ncogkneetoe's comment has rattled some people here. I'm not defending what he said nor his uncooth in doing such in a public forum. Moreso taking up for those who may want to come in and offer support / condolences for the family.

You are right that it rattled some people, Stickman. I know it did me. IMO, everyone should have a little more consideration and sympathy for the Holifield family at this time. We wouldn't want someone talking about our loved one that just passed away.

I know HTG. I wouldn't either, but things like this do happen. It's no worse than the "gosspi" that goes around. We all know it happens, we all at some point partake in it. Are we all not guilty at some point for doing the same?

Like I said, I am not confirming or denying what ncogkneetoe said. I am not defending ncogkneetoe for his actions.

How do we know ncogkneetoe does not have firsthand knowledge of this information and can readily back it up? If and when the right person comes along, he/she may be forced to back it up or issue a public retraction and/or apology.

All ncogkneetoe is guilty of at this point is his uncooth behavior. That's not a capital crime punishable by death. Stupidity is not against the law either. If so, we could dedicate two states to a prison for stupid people!

There are some comments and posts made here that never get much a look or response. They end up buried in the forum basement, collecting dust. Then there are comments that cause a 3 page thread and more threads about the comments. There are going to be posts made that simply make others ill. If I were to close every thread I disagreed with on some level we wouldn't have a site.

I agree Dave/Stick, but I feel irreverant ignorance should be censored. At times the line has to be drawn so there is no ill reflection to this awesome site you guys have given us. I am tied to that family through marriage and it really pisses me off to have to read the unmindful, shallow post from ncogkneetoe.

How about we run a 6hr or 8hr Poll to see if anyone else feels the whole thread needs removed or just the irreverant post within the thread.

My vote -- out of the worse of two evils (funny how often we have to choose between two evils all the time now in so many situations)... My opinion would be remove the whole thread or remove nothing.

The point I was trying to make is "stop talking about it." But this is the polar opposite. Although I did not like his comment, he does have freedom of speech, but the only time he post is to get a rise out of some people. so just ignore him and his comments and like stick said"let him hang himself". Now if we stop posting on these threads they will go to the basement were they belong.

It amazes me how ignorant some people in this world can be. Whether he did or did not do the dew with stash in the socks or whatever is none of anyones business to go tellin the public. I personally think that ncogkneetoe should either apologize or explain his remarks and back them up with some kinda evedince for his proof. If he cant then he should just shut the f*$% up on this situation. Just what I think though.
