Dillards Closing in Tuscaloosa
I was in Tuscaloosa today and was surprised to see that Dillards was closing. I had not heard anything about it. Someone "tried" to remember what was going to occupy that space in the mall without much success. Does anyone know anything? Are all Dillards closing?

no not all are closing. it was in the tuscaloosa news a month or so ago.

If I remember Belks bought out Dillards and that the maority of the Dillard stores would be closing.

It was announced a couple of months ago. They have closed a few of the stores that had less profits ( the one in t'town and a few others out of state ). i really hate it. we always bought pageant dresses there for less than $50. i guess we will start going to the one in meridian. i haven't heard of what will be replacing it in t'town.

Yes I heard the one in Meridian would stay open. Sad to have to go out of state to buy pagent dresses. I remember those days, was glad to have Belks in Tuscaloosa.

I thought that McRae's was bought out by Belk. I think that is what happened over in Meridian. I like Belk much better than Dillard's or McRae's.

If they have the sales in the T'town Dillards that they have had at other store closings, then get ready to buy lots of items! I got $900 worth of clothes for $175 at the last one I went to. Anyone want to carpool??? LOL

I was at Dillard's last month and the sales were not that great. Also, it was a mess! Everything was jumbled. I am an organizational person (yes, it is a handicap sometimes) and I can not clutter shop. The employees were upset also.

Spoke with someone from Tuscaloosa yesterday and he said the 14th of June is their last day and they have an additional 30% off items and some things are going for nearly nothing.
