Something the papers missed!
An event is taking place right now in Demopolis, that no newspaper has covered. An event that happens ever 25-30 years has escaped our local press. I with the help of J flockery will be happy to break this story.
Now most of you are not familiar with the Maguey (Agave americana) plant. But let me and wiki help those who do not know out.

The plant is located on the side road that runs behind Advance Auto and cuts back to Cedar. The only house on this road has the Mague in its back yard. The nickname for this plant is the Century Plant.

A couple of years ago someone in Linden on Mobile street had a plant like this in their yard but I noticed recently that it is no longer there... Thanks for sharing this, LPL... I always wondered what kind of plant it was...

That was The Dunaway's house on Mobile. I think Ivan knocked a tree down on it and took it out.

Theres's one growing on Old Spring Hill Road is a front yard....
It's near the the 3 way stop that takes you to Bell Grayson Road.

My mom has one of these plants in her yard. I hate the thing. She has had hers about 10 years now, so I quess I will have to look at it another 10 or so years. When she brought it home to put in the ground, I thought why did you get that thing.
