The dissent argues (1) that the 2nd amendment doesn't apply individually, but only to militias and (2) that the government has an overriding interest in suppressing gun crime which supercedes the individual right of citizens to own guns.

Dissenters were Breyer, Stevens, Ginsberg and Souter...the usual suspects. The good news is that they lost, so I can continue to support the legitimacy of the American government.
