Georgia Mascot Uga VI DiesATHENS, Ga. (June 28) - Uga VI, the beloved University of Georgia mascot, has died from congestive heart failure at his home in Savannah.The bulldog's owner, Frank Seiler, said he had the best winning record of any mascot in the school's history.Recent Sports ObituariesUga VI, June 28: The well-known and beloved mascot of the University of Georgia passes away from congestive heart failure. He had been the school's mascot since 1999.Seiler said he noticed the nine-year-old English Bulldog was breathing heavily Friday night. He passed away soon afterward.Uga will be buried in a vault in the Southwest corner of Sanford Stadium with his predecessors. Private ceremonies are expected early next week.Uga VI became UGA's mascot in 1999. He was the son of Uga V, the only college mascot to land on the cover of Sports Illustrated.University of Georgia Athletic Director Damon Evans called it "a sad day for the entire Bulldog nation."

I saw this last night.He was an awesome dog.I love english bulldogs so much that I almost became a Georgia fan but that wasn't quite enough to pull me away from my Auburn Tigers.He was a cool ole dog.R.I.P. Uga.

I remember the joke from Lewis Gizzard....
The Georgia mascot came out at half time and strutted his stufff...and showed his Bull Dawg pride...
All of a sudden....he plopped down on the 50 yard line and started licking himself.....(like all dogs do)
Bubba...(in the stands) looked over at Billy Bob and asked...."what would happen if I did that?
Billy Bob repied....."Bubba, that dawg would bite you!"....lol

I came to work this morning and told my boss that I had a relative die and needed time off to grieve....UGA VI and our English Bulldog "Boss" have the same bloodline...UGA V is Boss' great granddaddy....We haven't told Boss yet....Thanks everyone for caring about a truly wonderful Mascot.
