Generous Reward to help find Thieves
On Tuesday, July 9th 2 white males driving a white pick up truck with a camper top and a trailer pulled on to my property on highway 80 west (North side of road) just a little east of Sparks road and stole 3 large grist mill stones. This happened between 3:00 pm and 5:30 pm. It took them at least 2 loads. These are large antique solid granite stones. Two are 36" diameter and one is a little over 42" in diameter. They weigh at least 600 pounds a piece, one over 800 pounds.

I will give a reward to whoever helps me find the persons responsible for this.

This was the middle of the day on a main highway. I have the information above because of a person passing by seeing them. I am hoping someone else saw something or knows who these people are.

I live out that way and saw them. I wondered what they were doing. I was on my way home from work, approx. 4:30 p.m. I didn't recognize them or the vehicle, but they seemed to be quite young. I believe the truck was a Toyota Tacoma, but I can't swear to it.

It is not easy, that is why I thought they were safe from low life people like this. PLEASE - if anyone knows anything let us know. I called the Sherriff's office while they were stealing them, when the Deputy got there 1 stone was gone and so were the thiefs - that was around 3:45. By 5:45 when I could get there the other 2 were gone, so this is someone that took them someplace close.

Did you call around to the local drs. and chiropractors. Whoever took those things has got to have a hernia or messed up their backs really bad!
People will take anything. I hope you find your stones and the culprits.

Thanks for the idea. Please let me know if anyone has any other ideas. I have put an ad in the newspapers. We are offering a $1000 reward. These young men stole them right on a busy highway in the middle of the day. They made several trips, loaded and unloaded all within a couple of hours - so they are from around here. I am hoping and praying someone knows or saw something. PLEASE help me spread the word.

Do you know of anyone who has expressed interest in them?

That just seems rather brazzen for someone to just randomly make 2 or 3 trips to steal millstones. These two guys had a plan to get those millstones, and had a place to put them. Criminals will do strange things. What gets me is that this was in broad open daylight!!! It probably was a good plan because how many of us would have thought that someone would steal a millstone? Talk about having NO shame!

Have you rode down Sparks Rd, CoRd 2 and the French Creek area I'm guessing with the short time frame they are close.
