Refurbished Cell Phone Question

Does anyone know of a reliable online site that sells refurbished cell phones? I need one for my daughter that is starting college in a few weeks. It would have to be compatable with AT&T (formerly cingular wireless) and have the ability to just drop in a sim card and go. I have checked the AT&T website. The prices are just too high. Someone mentioned EBAY to me, but I am not an Ebay user and not familiar with it. Just hoping that someone @ Dlive has purchased and used a particular site/vendor that they are happy with.

I looked at the phones @ Walmart. They were well over $200.00. I asked about converting one of the pay-as-you go phones to work with her Sim card and they told me it wouldn't work. One of the girls that worked the cell-phone desk actually took her used razor phone out of her purse and offered it to us for $25.00. She had just upgraded to a new phone. I bought the phone from her the next day knowing it needed a battery replaced. She just has to recharge it A LOT. LOL The battery for that phone is almost $100.00. Ridiculous!

I think the pre paid ones will work as long as you put your sim card in. You could call AT and T and ask them.

That will work. I know someone that had to do that while on the road when theirs broke down on them.

It will depend on which brand of pre pay you buy. We converted my daughters go phone to an At&t contract phone, but a tracfone, net 10 or some others would not convert.

Dilly, ebay is going to be your best bet. You can find some really nice phones for little or nothing on ebay.

True! We sell them for less than $10.00 before taxes at Freds. And her sim card will fit. Just make sure you get the go phone in the bright orange box.

Dilly we just bought a Blackberry 8700 refurb from AT & T for 49.99 go to refurbished and check it out. you can add a line and only up ur contract 10 dollars nd get that phone. easy peasy.

one word---ebay. gotta love it
