Living out in the "country" like me, you get used to having less available vs. living in the city. But one problem I'm having is garbage pickup-- I pay the exact same every month as folks in town, but I only get it picked up once a week, and everyone else gets there twice a week. As if living 10 miles out makes me less likely to produce garbage.

Good point Dave, For what reason does waste management have to provide less service for just as much money? Most people probobly don't even realize the services they recieve in the country is not as good as in town, but still pay the same. Not just garbage pick-up, but also quality of phone and cable lines. The phone connections in the country are no where near as good as in town, evident when connecting to the internet, but yet you pay just as much as the guy sitting 20ft from the server. What do you guys think?

Well I live in town and for the most part I dont generate enough trash to be picked up twice a week, can I get a discount? Maybe a trash compactor would be in order, as long as there is no limit on weight, just the amount that can fit in a 60 gal container.

I tell you what i love the choices that you have in a big city but the country folks dont know how good they have it. It takes me an hour to run to the store and back and i am not talking about going several miles away but just several blocks. I hate traffic. The rent in a place like this is also outrageous. 650.00 for 800 lousy square feet. I could get a 3bdr house in demopolis for 450.00 a month:(

I'd never suggest taking away from someone, just evening it up for everyone else. I understand the cost of living is virtually doubled in the city, but none of your rent/mortgage is going towards phone lines, ancillary services, etc. Bottom line, I need to move:-)
