Did anyone else have the storm wake them up about 4am?
Lightening almost continuously. I ran and unplugged everything at risk and didn't have to turn on any lights.
About 4am the lightening never let up for about an hour, it was almost like daylight.
I watched the storm come in for a little while, then 97.1 said Laurel MS was under a severe T'storm warning, it wasn't even really here yet. Lightening struck within a hundred yards of the house around 5:30am.
Kinda got my attention...

but the second mouse gets the cheese.
It kinda got my attention too Oldman! Whew! We have a storm pit, and I was darn tempted to go, but didn't wanna get wet walking through the backyard! Ha-Ha!!! Needless to say that yeah, that was one hell of a storm.

I'm not sure which woke me up first, the storm or my dogs howling at the storm. Both were quite a racket. I didn't think it would ever let up (the storm that is). We ended up having our puppy ChiChi in the bed with us. She was shaking like a leaf but settled down pretty quick. I'm really surprized we didn't lose power sometime during it.
Woke me up here in Livinston about 3:15 and kept me up with it's dazzling lightshow and booming thunder for right at 2 hours. Whew! Now I'm tired as all get out today. *yawn*
"For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin--real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life."
-- Alfred D. Souza
When the first really loud clap of thunder hit, I jumped clear out of bed. It was right next to my house and you could see the entire sky was just black as caol. I could never go back to sleep after that and it was about 4:02 when this happened.
I slept right throught it too. I didn't wake up at all until around 9:30. Then I didn't know that we had had a storm until I looked outside and saw all the sand that had washed under my carport. I went to T'ville and saw how high the water was under the bridges on my way down and then I knew for sure that we had gotten a lot of rain last night.
