I want to know if anyone here is on Comcast High Speed Internet service? If so, tell me about your experience with them as an internet provider.
The reason I am asking is I am thinking of switching internet providers very soon. Comcast has just come out with a faster internet connection (6Mbps download / 786Kbps upload) that will not be but about $5 more a month than what I am paying BellSouth for their DSL Extreme Package. I already am a subscriber to their digital cable service, so I am sure it will be no problem for them to add internet service to the existing service.

Their basic internet boasts 4 Mbps down /384 Kbps up connection for the same price I am paying now for BellSouth's Extreme DSL package, which BTW is only 3Mbps down.
I have Comcast high speed internet in Tuscaloosa. I love it, and I've never had any problems with it. It's fast and, so far, has been very reliable. It was very easy to set up, and I got a six month discount when I signed up.

I had there service when I was living in Tuscaloosa. Never really had any problems out of them, and the connection was great. I can't recall what BandWidth package I had though.
Well, I called Comcast up when I got in from work this morning. I am in the process of switching service. Even though Comcast didn't have and was not able to offer me any specials on the hot 6Mbps service, I still think I will be better off with them. I will have twice the connection I had with BellSouth for the same price each month.
The man @ the Panama City office I talked to to get everything set up didn't set everything up in the computer as he should have this morning. I have spent 30 minutes trying to set up what should have been a simple install of my new high speed internet connection, plus another hour on the phone with tech support in Ontario, Canada to find out Tony (the local guy)didn't set my schtuff up correctly. I'm on DSL still for a little while longer, but should be making the switch to Comcast internet sometime this afternoon.
WTG!!! Let me know how it goes. I just dropped Demopolis Cable, and went to Bellsouth DSL Lite at $9.95 for the first 3 months. It seems to be faster than the cable was, but I am always looking for faster. I bought this computer that is supposed to be super fast, but to no avail, have not seen that happen yet. I will switch over in the next 3 months if it turns out to be what you expect of it. I know I would expect it to be faster than Bellsouth, but will have to wait and see how you like it. Please let me know how satisfied you are with it... Thanks!
