home theater?

Hey everybody!
Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions on a home theater?
I'm looking to buy one, but I'm not interested in a plasma (I want something larger). I'd been thinking about maybe a projection TV (great for sports!)...any suggestions?

Re: home theater?

DLP. Thinner than conventional Projection, much better picture quality, none of the short life issues that plague plasma, and they are much cheaper than plasma and LCD.

Re: home theater?

Yeah, that sounds cool too. Thanks.
What about those actual video projectors that project onto a motorized screen? What do you think about those?

Re: home theater?

Cost of ownership is higher since you will eventually have to replace the metal hylide bulb which can run several hundred dollars depending on projector model. Low light conditions are required for optimal viewing.

Projectors have their uses, but I don't think Home theatre is one of them.

Re: home theater?

For ultimate in resolution, LCD projection is the best. DLP certainly sounds good to me tho... between the two, it would probably come down to price for me.

Gotta back Brian on the projector thing tho... just too expensive and only works in low light. Mini blinds are not nearly enough.
