View Full Version : Help!! Kittens!!
i have been hearing what sounding like kittens under my house for 2 days now. tonight, i had had enough. it was driving me crazy. lol. i called some friends and after 2 hours of crawling around under my house, we figured out they were not coming from under, but inside my house. the atic. above my room. low and behold i have 4 kittens, eyes just barely open, and cute as can be. i can't keep them. i plan on taking them to the vet's office and letting them handle them, but if anyone wants to go ahead and volunteer to take them, please, please, please do.

Red did you get a good enough look to maybe see what colors they are?

Can you tell if they will be long haired or not. I have a friend that has been looking for a long haired type kitten.

to bad i live so far away i am a sucker for kittens but ranger is too don't tell him i told you good luck finding homes for them just don't take them to the pound because they will put them to sleep
bad news. i took them to the vets office, and they said the only thing they could do for them was to put them down. i went over to blondie's house and we tried to feed them, but they wouldn't eat. and one sounded sickly already, another would barely move. the vet said they were only 3 weeks old. the kittens wouldn't eat from blondie for nothing. no matter how we tried. and it had already been 2 days since they had eaten. so, blondie and i made the decision to take them back and let the vet's office have them. i had posted this tread last night, hoping someone would take them off my hands imeediatly. being as young as they were they required feeding every 30 min to and hour. neither of us could do it. that was a hard decision though. i never want to make another one like it agian.

i was one of the ones that helped red get this kittens out and i can say they were so precious. i hate the fact that they did not live they looked healthy all but the little one that was stuck in the wall. there were three orange and white ones and one black and white one. they looked like they may have had long hair. they were sooooo cute.

Oh that's so sad! The mother must have abandoned them.

Animals seem to have a sixth sense about their young. If they are sick and don't have much chance of surviving strongly they will abandon them and let them die. Or it could be the mother was injured and couldn't get back to them. Not too likely she forgot where they were, cats have an uncanny sense of direction and memory. We had a cat that was left behind by some neighbors that moved away. We tried to find it a new home and the guy came and put it in his trunk of his car so it wouldn't scratch up his seats. He lived on the other side of town. When he got there and opened the trunk the cat jumped out and took off and the next day was on our doorstep meowing.

yeah cats don't forget where their kittens are i bet something happened to the mother. ranger raised and bottle fed kittens before when he had a cat that had kittens and something happened to her if i remember right the kittens were only one week old and didn't even have their eyes open yet so he had to be their mother. he did a good job they all lived. But that has been a long time ago.I am so sorry that you had to have them put down it seems that the vet would at least try keeping them alive before making a decision like that.
