If God knows the fate of everyone on the planet and the decisions we make, how can man claim to have Free Will?


Just wanted so see everyones claim on it.:dunno:

Knowing something will happen and controlling something so that it does happen are two diffrent things alltogether.

I imagine it as a web. God knows what points of the web we will be at durng different times in our lives, but the particular thread we take to get there is a matter of free will because all the threads we can possibly take are within his plan and will lead us to the same place He knows what thread we will take, but he doesn't control it. Good reading on the subject is St. Augustine, Descarte, and Plato.

You can break your head trying to figure it out.

I believe in destiny, but I also believe that if I sit on my butt and wait for it, it'll never happen. Y'know, everything happens for a reason and such...

When it comes down to seconds making huge differences in someone's life, you really have to ask if it isn't all suppose to happen, what if you waited to let someone else go first in the intersection, step in line, etc...

but you cannot give up the feeling of control, which is what free will works with.

btw: the one thing that made me finally quit cranking this over and over... Time is one of our creations. Things change, cycles occur, but time is an abstract based on cyclic occurances. God is not limited as such.
