Well for all that know me I have been in the military for 7 years now and I have come to the conclusion that army life is much like high school. Why you ask. Well its like this. Remember how in high school you had prom and after school activities and such. Well its much like that in the army. Such as tonight I have a "military formal" I have to go to. Now you would never thank it would be that big a deal but I was wrong. Its just like prom. You have to buy a gown for your date, you have to get your and hers hair done. She has to get her hair done. Man ol man what what a day so far. More examples of how it is like high school is you have the principal or in this case your company commander. Then of course the vice-principal is the 1SG and so on. Then of course you have your jocks or in my case the guys who score the best in their physical fitness catergories. The cheerleaders are the wives and most importantly the school bully is Osama Bin Laden and all his cronies. Anyways Like I said I got a hot date tonight with the wife and our 1st "prom"
Don't forget about all the money you have to spend. I am not sure if yours is like the Coast Guards but you have got to buy all new Medals and Ribbons, becasue they have got to be flawless. Plus if you have never been to one you have to buy the uniform which is expensive. But like I said I am not sure if the Army does it the same as the Coast Guard.

I had to stop and ask self,"Do I really need to be here", and self says,"Only in the cover of darkness."

-Dress to kill but remember the first thing you kill is your feet.-
-When I'm good I'm very good but...when I'm bad I'm better.-

Wow, I wish our school had been like yours! Down here the only thing the guy bought his date was a corsage. The girl had to get her gown and pay for her own hairdo. LOL
Well, I hope everything went great! I'll be glad when mine comes home for good...he says he's getting out of the military when he comes back from Iraq(he's been in it for 10 years).

That would have been kinda of expensive for you. Aren't all your children boys. LOL

In the Air Force we have two types of formal dinners, a Dining In, and a Dining Out. Dining In is only for the military, Dining Out includes spouses, dates, etc. Both of which require mess dress, which you have to buy (expensive), but they are a blast, it gets really wild when the smoking lamp is lit, and you have to drink from the grog because you broke a rule! Fun Stuff!
They've given me a number, and taken away my name!
