Need your questions for the Mayor
I have an appointment with our Mayor Cecil Williamson to sit down and discuss some issues that has been bothering me for some time, the main one being the use of the donated Rosenbush Building. I would also like to bring up other issues or questions that any of you would like for her to address or to just voice your opinion. Cecil was gracious to answer my email sent to City Hall so I highly suggest if you have concerns or want to voice your opinion you can also send in your emails. Let's get our voices heard folks instead of just sitting around *****ing about how things are being done. You might actually make a difference.

I have a question, albeit one that Mayor Williamson might not have an answer to:

What is Demopolis doing or planning to do to bring young professionals back to the community after they finish their degree? Other than the plants, are there really sufficient job and social opportunities to attract a "younger crowd" to move back to Demopolis and raise their families?

Lets revise that question just a bit Demopolite. What is Demopolis DOING, not planning to do. Everyone gets in there and expresses theirs PLANS for doing things, and they never seem to happen.

I have a couple of questions:

What ever happened to the rifle range project?

Why does it seem that ALL major decisions from the mayor tend to happen in executive session?

What is demopolis doing to help lure new industry to this area?

What is the status of the HWY 43 4 lane project (which would be a good lure)?

Why doesn't the mayor get on this website, where we would more than happy to facillitate a forum for Q&A?

What is the mayors views on the Arch street project?

How does the mayor think that students graduating from college feel about coming back? Does she think that most want to, or not, and why?

What is the square root of 152,399,025? (Sorry.... its 12345)

And finally, how much wood could a wood chuck chuck, if a wood chuck could chuck wood??

Ok guys, got your questions down, all except those last 2 of yours Jeff. I even emailed the questions to Cecil so she can be going over them ahead of time and hopefully will have answers to them to satisfy everyone. I also invited her to come to the forums and set up a question and answer section. I'm sure Brian could even set up a separate forum just for that if she agrees. We'll see.

I would like to know why Demopolis hasn't selected and hired a new police chief. Does the Mayor intend to keep Jeff Manuel, Director of Public Safety, performing both duties?

I would like to know why the old Mr G's Building has not been torn down... I think it looks horrible when people are traveling through on highway 43 to see burned down building why not clean up a little bit..
