Need a little info
Hi! I am currently looking into opening a dance studio in Demopolis. If you could help with a little info. I would greatly appriciate it!
I need to know if Demopolis has any type of dance school or Gymnastics Gym in operation? Do you believe Demopolis is in need of such a school?
I figured there was no better way of analyzing my options than asking the Demopolis community themselves.

My daughter took ballet a couple years ago--I think she's still having classes. Not sure about gymastics, but I encourage any business that offers more opportunities to our youth.

Tracy Cargile teaches ballet 2 days a week in demopolis and also in greensboro. She used to live here and teach daily but now she lives in tuscaloosa. I have heard some complaints about her classes this year. I don't think there are any gymnastics classes here in town. I know my daughter and her friends would love a gymnastics class--they will be trying out for cheerleader next year ( sixth grade ). I think you would do well in Demopolis--little girls in this area love dance and tumbling. You would also get business from surrounding towns like Linden. I know several people that travel to Tuscaloosa weekly so their daughters can take dance or tumbling classes. I urge you to definitely consider coming to Demopolis!:bsmiley:

I took dance in Demopolis for years. Some girls enjoy sports like softball, my sport was dance. I would have loved to take a more professional class but options were limited here. I believe that a more professional dance studio would do very well.

I don't think that tracey is going to teach ballet next year because i think it is too much on her to have to drive all the way down here for lessons.. so i think that someone else taking over for ballet would be great.. also i know that their are lot of children that love gymnastics and think that that would go over very well also.. where are you thinking about opening the studio at???

Please, please let me know if you decide to open your studio! My girls took ballet from Tracy in the past, but we sat this year out. They are constantly asking when they can take ballet again, and I haven't been able to get in touch with Tracy. I certainly don't blame her if she decides not to teach in Demopolis if she lives elsewhere. My two girls would love gymnastics too. Do you think you might be up and running by the fall? I certainly hope so!

Wow when I sent my message I had no idea I would get such a good response. I own Jordan School of Dance in Grove Hill. I have been in operation for 10 years. We teach ballet, tap , jazz, lyrical, and children's creative movement. My classes are constructed to accomidate all levels of students.
In Grove Hill we have three age groups Petite, junior ,and Senior that audition each year to be in our competition company. We travel to several competitions and dance conventions through out the year.

My thought is to teach two or three days a week in demopolis, at first.

About where I will house the studio? I have no idea! If you have any ideas. feel free!

We are an energetic dance studio with a strong jazz and lyrical background.
