wedding at the beach
has anyone had a wedding on the beach? I am interested in it.If anyone has any info on it please let me know. I have no idea where to start. I guess Gulf shores is out of the question right now. thanks!

I attended a wedding on the beach at Gulf Shores several years ago. The father of the bride worked through a beach hotel to make all of the arrangements. The ceremony was held on the beach behind the hotel, and the following reception was held in the hotel. Could be pricey.

Another, less expensive, way to go might be to contact Gulf Shores Parks and Recreation Department at City Hall and ask what arrangements you could make for a wedding on its public beaches.

If the Pink Pony is back in operation, it might be happy to have you wed on its beach, and imbibe in the Pony later.

thank you for your input oldapier. I really just want something small for close friends and family. Maybe instead of a reception,just have a small dinner at a restaurant and just rent a room out.

The State has a beach area on the east side of Gulf Shores.
We went by there before the storm and there was a wedding going on there. Call or go on the State Park web site for info.

Have you tried looking at some wedding websites? The Knot is useful (www.theknot.com) b/c there are message boards specific to each state. I used it a lot when planning my wedding. You could go to the Alabama board on there and ask about beach weddings. Good luck and Congrats!

I just got back from Gulf Shores. Don't get married there...it is just too depressing after Ivan.

Try contacting the tourism bureau in Destin or Ft. Walton. They should be able to help out. Both of those areas still look really nice.

While at the beach last year a couple staying in the same condos as us got married. Everyone who officially attended wore khaki\white or just white and were barefoot. Torches lit the way to a simple altar. The crowd gathered around them. We watched from the balcony. It was simple and sweet and could not have cost much.

was just down in destin memorial weekend and they actually have a chapel thingy that has beach weddings it comes in a package. since im already married and i did the mountian thingy didnt bother taking down names and numbers but im almost positive you can log on to beach weddings .com and click on fla or alabama wherever you want to have it and im sure you could find a package kinda deal..good luck!!!

hey nurseg, heres the website http://www.beachwedding.com dont think they have any in gulf shores but they do have them in destin and panamacity.. theres a whole bunch of packages you can chose from so enjoy!
