I am no expert in barbeque places, but I understand that the Golden Rule Barbeque is an Alabama chain. There is one on Skyland Boulevard in Tuscaloosa. Presumably, there are others in the Birmingham area.

I have gone to the golden rule in t-town and it is okay but i like jackie's ribs alot better than theres... why can't we get some other kinds of resturants besides bbq??

Golden Rule BBQ is owned by Bobby Humphrey (Spelling?) A former Alabama Football stand-out and coach of the Birmingham Steel Dogs. Do not quote me on this but I think I am right. I do not think Jackie has anything to worry about. I have eaten at Golden Rule and it is not the best BBQ you will ever eat. I cook and judge BBQ all the time and Jackie has as good of BBQ you can get anywhere. I also want to give Big Sonnys a shout also. Go by Pruitts and check them out. They cook some of the best Ribs you have ever put in your mouth. Demopolis is known to have some of the best BBQ cookers in the state. Watch the food channel and you will see some of them from time to time. Krew of BB Wolf, Big Bee Que, Big Sonnys, Alabama Power, Butt Masters and Smoking Jacks to name a few.

This is not necessarily a bad thing here. Once the Supercenter gets operational (cue death star music), High 80 will start exploding with the familiar chain restaurants everyone is looking for. Considering Demopolis is home to the Official State BBQ championship, having several BBQ joints in town only adds to the atmosphere.
