Death of teen is news, not his photo.
In a Democrat-Reporter tradition, the paper prints a full color picture on its front page of a man being burnt to ashes in his own car. The 19 year old Demetri Lewis lost control of his car traveling north between Thomasville and Linden, hitting a large SUV nearly head-on. Reports say Lewis died on impact. His car skidded off the road, ending up next to the SUV, where it then burst into flames. There were 4 passengers in the SUV, all of whom were treated at Bryan Whitfield Hospital; all survived with minor injuries. There are 2 pictures of the wreck in the D-R; the front page color photo of the car engulfed in flames, and a page 3 photo after the flames were put out, showing the extent of damage done to the driver-side of the car. The second photo, and I could be wrong here, appears to have been taken after the body was removed, but the first was definitely taken while the body burned. I feel showing what the car looked like after a crash is fine, if only to show the extent of an accident. Showing burning Americans on the front cover of your publication is done only to attempt to sell more papers and is morally wrong. I’ve said before, if I’m ever unfortunate enough to be in an accident around Linden, and someone from the Democrat approaches with a camera, they’ll need a proctologist before developing the film.
Big B gets robbed, again.
According to police, Jacqueline Howard went into the “Big B” arcade, pointed her pistol, and took $1150 in cash for her trouble. The security camera, present at any casino, taped her entire robbery, and police were able to identify and arrest her within the hour. They recovered $740 off her person, no gun or the remaining cash has been found. According to police, Howard confessed to the crime after being confronted with the video tape evidence. If anyone can get me a copy of that tape, I’ll post it for download
Howard stated she has a “bad gambling habit” and owed a lot of money. I say it’s even Steven—Big B steals from everyone, somebody should get some of it back.
