5 year old's extreme misbehavior

I only heard about this story today, due to the release of the video yesterday. The first link is the original story which took place much earlier in the month. The second contains the video footage of this demonic 5 year old destroying school property and displaying quite violent behavior toward school officials. The last resort they had was calling the law. What sickens me the most, is what dear mama had to say:

"She's never going back to that school," Akins said. "They set my baby up."

Set up my ***! And I just bet all the staff at that elementary school will be having a HUGE celebration that the brat won't be back. God help the other school she will soon be attending. The poor children at her new school will suffer the most for losing valuable learning time while the teachers have to deal with this little beast. IMO, social services should be checking into the girl's home life. Old Mom doesn't sound like much of a real winner at childrearing.

This is the result of home training....If the parents can't take the time to disipline their child, they shouldn't have any....Some people should just be sterilized. What happened to the good ole days when children knew the difference b/w right and wrong?

Loved by few, imitated by many, duplicated by none. Yea, it's me..."BAMARAISED"

Re: 5 year old's extreme misbehavior

I am in total agreement with you guys on this... When I saw the video, I said that she most likely learned how to act like this from her parents.. but then on the other hand, the school claimed to not having prior problems from the child, at least not to this extent.. so maybe just maybe she was having a really bad day..lol actually I think the child needs to be checked out medically just to rule out anything. She looked like she was on a super sugar rush.

Re: 5 year old's extreme misbehavior

From the audio I heard, the police has had to handle this child before. Three police officers may seem a bit too much but it may be department policy to have more than one officer to help control situations like this. The school assistant principal was using minimal force to keep from being harmed by and causing harm to the girl until the police arrived. Also it may be school policy not to restrain unruly children because of posible lawsuits. One strike policy may also apply, no matter the age. As most of us parents know, a five year old can do a lot of damage and inflict a lot of pain when they are out of control.

The parent needs to be there to make sure that the kkid doesn't do this. There is no excuse for this behavior.

Re: 5 year old's extreme misbehavior

I also heard that this wasn't the first time this child had given the teachers trouble. If the mother did not want this to happen, she should have gone to the school to take care of matters herself when the school called her "before" they called the police. From what I heard on the news she told them she couldn't come. Sounds like a definite behavior taught at home. Whatever happened to good old fashioned paddling?

And OMG...those kids on the Nanny wouldn't last 30 minutes with me. I would have spanked some little butts within the first 10 minutes. Guess that's why I'm not an educator. I would not put up with that at all. But from what I've seen on that show the majority of the problems with those children begin with the parents.

Re: 5 year old's extreme misbehavior

Spare the rod, spoil the child. That's what has happened to children in the years since I came up. Parents have opted to shy away from the old fashioned spanking children in favor of less physical means of discipline. Result....children who will not behave.

Children must be taught there are consequences for their actions in all aspects of society. That teaching should start at home and at an early age. Parents shouldn't leave it up to school officials, whose hands are already tied regarding methods of discipline, or police officers to discipline their children.
