Couldn’t blame the Crawfish Festival on this one.

Two teens have been arrested for making counterfeit money. The fake bills that started showing up about two weeks ago were apparently made using a color copier and a printer. Det. Tim Soronen, who previously theorized the money coming from recent events in Faunsdale, followed leads that lead him to the two Demopolis teens; a 14 y o and a 17 y o. Following a search of their house, they recovered $450 worth of fake $10’s, $20’s and $50’s. The teens confessed shortly after the search. There is one more adult suspect that police state will be arrested soon and turned over to the secret service.
What’s troublesome about this is anyone with a scanner and a printer can do this. I hope young fools read what’s happened to these two and realize just how stupid it is to attempt it.

Another week, another tornado or two.

Anyone as sick of weather maps as I am? If you compare us with Tennessee, Missouri, Kansas, or even Mississippi we’ve been fairly lucky. That said, Marengo County has stayed under some type of weather warning for the past three weeks (a few dry spells aside). The latest came on May 7th around 4:30 p.m. The twister was spotted just west of Linden, and was tagged to hit Linden and Providence. The storm seemed to just die off as in got into the county though. In Demopolis, no rain or even thunder occurred during the warning. The weather siren did go off just as the warning was announced, which as becoming as common and the train’s whistle as it goes through downtown. According to meteorologists, the severe weather “season” lasts into the first of June…Great.

Goodloe talks of lawsuits.

In his ever growing love affair with Pat Vice, Goodloe seems determined to undermine the Linden City Council’s decisions and take up for his man. Vice was stripped of his powers to hire and fire employees. According to the Linden City Attorney, this is legal. According to Goodloe Sutton, it is not. Vice has backed off his quest to get back what he lost. He seems (at least on the outside) willing to still work with the Linden City Council. Goodloe isn’t giving up, using his paper to constantly put down his own City Council members. Now, Goodloe states, “The lawsuit against each individual council member is in the wings.” Is he bringing it? Or his he going to push it till some gullible Linden citizen, high on Dairy Queen Blizzards, takes Goodloe seriously and calls him up. Goodloe, doing what he does best, gives detailed instructions on how to go about suing a city council. The citizen sets it in motion, costing all parties involved substantial amounts of money; all in a futile attempt to help a mayor that won’t be there for another term.

Good Ol' Goodle and his infinite wisdom of law. I do think that he had a grandfather or father that ws mayor of linden at one time, but I'm not for sure on that. Maybey that is the fuel of his crusade?

Goodloe is nothing more than the same bumbling idiot that he has always been. The only thing different is that he now has the big head from still thinking that he is the one who brought down Roger Davis and Sonny Breckinridge. He wishes his pen was that mighty. Seems to me he could be making some enemies in Linden that he may not want. Vice will not be there to protect him forever.
