Congrats to Jeff Laudron & LPD!

I want to say CONGRATULATIONS! and a very big THANK YOU! to Chief Jeff Laudron and the Linden Police Department for their hard work and diligence in the Preston Bowden case. Your hard work and dedication to your job has paid off!!!

The award Chief Jeff Laduron received from the FBI is living proof that not everything is as Gossipin' Goodloe Sutton says it is. For months, Chief Laduron have taken a beating on the front page of the Democrat - Reporter in all references to the case against former Chief of Police and Linden City Councilman Preston Bowden relating to all the guns and stuff he stole from the Linden Police Department. Just because Chief Laduron would not give Gossipin' Goodloe every little detail concerning the ONGOING investigation to help him sell newspapers, Goodloe assumed Chief Laduron was trying to cover up for Preston or was not telling the truth about things. Well, we all know what happens when people ASSUME - it makes an *** out of you and me! Chief Laduron played it smart and purposefully did not release all information on the case to keep from jepordizing an ONGOING investigation. If you believed everything ol' Gossipin' Goodloe had to say, you would tend to believe that Chief Laduron was not a straight arrow either. Nothing could be further from the truth and the recognition from the FBI is a big fat egg dripping from Gossipin' Goodloe's face. Matter of fact, I think he was so ashamed of all he has said and done that instead of printing the pictures and story about Chief Laduron and the award from the FBI on the front page of his rag, he chose to bury it in the back of the paper close to the want-ads. You know, it takes a real man to publicly apologize to someone and tell them "I was wrong about you and I'm sorry for what I said." Obviously, Goodloe is not a man or he would be on his knees begging Chief Jeff Laduron and the Linden Police Department to forgive him for ever doubting their integrity.

This honor bestowed upon Chief Laduron goes to show that there are STILL honest law enforcement officers in this county! Chief Laduron has proven this to the citizens of Linden and Marengo County that justice can and will prevail no matter how slow that wheel grinds! The fact that Preston Bowden was convicted not only on federal charges, but state charges (albeit in Sumter County thanks to Goodloe Sutton and his grandstanding media coverage of this case) based on their thorough investigation proves these facts.

I must say that Chief Laduron has a heck of a lot more self control than I do. If it were me, I'd have long done been the two blocks down the street from the police department to the newspaper office whooping Goodloe's *** for the stuff he said and insinuated about me in his newspaper.

Once again, CONGRATULATIONS! and a very big THANK YOU! for all you and the Linden Police Department have done with this investigation! It was a big job well done by a big man in a small country town!

Now let's see if Goodloe's partner, Mayor Pat Vice and the Linden City Council step up to the plate and give their fine civil servants the recognition they deserve!

If Jeff worked in Demopolis, they would problably have a Jeff Laduron day. Since Mayor Vice makes that call, that probably won't happen. With troubles and accusations against Chief Avery, maybe we can just do a trade.
